My reason for being busy!

An updated picture of my boys. Ayden just turned 6 months and Angel will be 3 in May. Notice my almost 3 year old just had to have his Reese cup in the picture with him!

Here's a picture of us taking advantage of the nice weather yesterday at the Imagination Station by our house.

One for us moms!

I found this article on one of my parenting forums that I belong to and could not believe how perfectly written it is! In the article there is the argument that us moms "embellish" how busy we are during the day and how we "claim" that we are too busy to take just 5 or 10 minutes to call or email friends to keep in touch, when friends who are "kidless" (yes i made that word up) live just as busy lives as either SAHM's or moms who work out of the house and then come home to their children. The next time you are wondering why you haven't heard from your friend who has one or more children think of this article. I realize you can't view the whole thing on my page because it's too large, but if you click it you will be directed to my photobucket where you can see it in its entirety. Please read and be enlightened.

Isn't it ironic, don't you think?

So I was leaving work a few days ago and I was picking up Mcdonalds which has become my son's favorite thing to eat, and the most ironic scene unfolded right before my eyes. There was a man in front of me driving a brand new Toyota Prius. You know the "electric hybrid vehicles" that are supposed to use less gas and be better for the environment. Anyway so this guy is waiting for his food at the window and he proceeds to hang his hand out while holding a plastic juice bottle. At first I thought he was going to wait for the Mcdonald's worker to open the window and he was going to ask her to throw it away for him. Apparently she was either taking too long to respond to him, or his plan was different than I though all along. This guy had the plastic bottle dangling from his hand for about a minute and then proceeded to just drop it on the ground, as if it was nothing. HELLO! Your driving an eco-friendly car and you're going to litter! What's the point? I just had to share this story because I thought it was hilarious! And that my friends is what we call irony.

Feeling: accomplished!

Angel and I forced ourselves to sit down tonight and FINALLY pick out an invitation and order them! We thought we were finished with this process sometime back in January but no, I kept looking around for the best deal, and the invitation that fit us the best. This one is perfect and it goes along with our "Twin Hearts" theme. Since we were feeling ambitious we also went ahead and ordered our toasting flutes, cake topper, and guest book pen to complete our set which you can look at here. And for me the icing on the cake was ordering my wedding band AHHHHHHHHHH! It's absolutely gorgeous and a FULL CARAT! I'm such a lucky girl =)

Reconnected

I am officially connected to all of my friends and family again, YAY! After going to a AT&T store to deal with the hassle of my blackberry and its shenanigans everything is squared away. I never thought this day would come again. Now if I could just figure out how to change my theme on it...

BB&B Registry Day

Angel and I can't wait to hold our first dinner party at our house because of these

We went today and registered, and could not have had a nicer consultant at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It's still a work in progress, but here's a little peak. It wasn't like when we registered at Macy's and they just threw us to the wolves to figure everything out. Our consultant, Jessica, was with us the entire time and knew information about EVERY single item we were looking at. Instead of taking 10 minutes to decided what the difference was between one set of pans and another she was able to rattle off the answer in just seconds. Also, their management team was awesome! We were given some high quality H20 to quench our thirst and were offered tea, coffee, and snacks in case we needed a little energy boost. We figured out our bathrooms, and most of the kitchen today! If I could just find an everyday china pattern to fall in love with.... Anywho Kudos to BB&B!

Here's another favorite item of mine, a wine chiller!

On another bad note Angel's wedding band we ordered for him was too big, so we had to send it back and order him another one in a smaller size. On a much lighter note though we have possibly found MY wedding band in the midst of all of this!!!!!!

Bye bye blackberry =(

$50 later and in 3-4 business days I will be reconnected to the internet world and my email, around the clock, YAY! I've already made it through the first 24 hours and the shakes are over...haha! I was at Chuck E. Cheese on Wednesday night with my family and someone stole my new blackberry that I haven't even had for a whole two weeks yet!!! Whoever said Chuck E. Cheese was the happiest place on the earth next to Disney World obviously has never had anything like this happen to them. Grrrr!

Reflection 2.14.09

I just wanted to take a minute to reflect on all the good we have in our lives, before i become too wrapped up in the wedding details. After Angel and I exchanged our Valentine's day cards this morning it made me realize how blessed we are to live the lives that we have. I don't think either of us actually thought at any point that we would be having the kind of wedding that we are, let alone any wedding bigger than taking the trip to City Hall and that is a good thing-trust me! We are so fortunate to be able to do what we are doing, and have everything that we want on our big day. We both came to the realization that we are going to do this once, so we might as well get everything we want and have no regrets. This is not an event like my 7 baby showers I've already had for just two children, lol. I think we both deserve this an incredible amount as well. We're raising two children, working full time, going to school full time, all while trying to maintain our home and make an established place for our family in this world. We are very grateful.

Circle of love

Angel ordered his wedding band last night! It's exactly what he wanted and we're both excited because we're actually moving forward with this wedding like the little engine that could. It's very simple, yet elegant just like this entry.

My new forte!

I know i posted yesterday that we already got an amazing deal from our limousine company, but as a bride on a budget i always feel like i can get places to shave off a little bit more money. So that's exactly what i was able to do today. The limo company is going to take another $75 off our package. WOOOHOOO!

Another exciting piece of news for our wedding coming together is that our passports arrived the other day in the mail. We were both shocked because it has only been about 2 weeks since we submitted all of our information. Aside from the HIDEOUS close up shots inside of them we're ecstatic they came so quickly. Ahhh, it's really happening !!

This is where I hope we'll be...

Rollin' in Style...

Wow, two days in a row that I am able to get on here! So we booked our limo company today. As you probably know I'm always looking for the best deal out there to work with our budget and I believe I found it today from this company. Their sales guy, Dave, was really nice to work with and was very accommodating for our wedding day. At first, we were just going to go with a 10 passenger stretch limo (from another company) but he was able to talk us into a 14 passenger party bus. This way we don't have to worry about being crowded, or crawling over each other to go from one spot to another. The guys will have 8 people on their trip to Sea Oaks, and us girls will have 10 on our trip so there should be no problem! Here's a sneak peak of the inside!

A houseful of new things!

Photobucket

I know this is coming a little bit late, but Angel and I registered this past Sunday at Macy's. Above is piece to the fine china set we registered for. We still have Bed, Bath, and Beyond to do but at least we got a jump start on registering which makes me feel less stressed. I never knew there were so many options for sterling silver flatware, stemware, fine china, everyday china, ughh its a mouthful just saying all of that. If you want to check it out, here it is. We registered at the Macy's in Eatontown because our mall is horrible and never has anything! Anyhow, our sales lady Madeline was super nice and very helpful! She reminded me of a little Italian Grandma. She made the whole experience wonderfull. Of course Angel had to have the scanning gun (I think its a guy thing)! We didn't put too much on our registry yet because it actually took about 2 hours just to pick out the few things that are on there, but I figure we can add to it little by little online, thank goodness for technology =) Enjoy!

Pastor said YES!

Angel and I just had our home visit with our Pastor from our soon to be church. The church is Peace Lutheran Church in Galloway, and can be found here. The Pastor came over with his adorable little family. His wife, Shiloh who is 9 1/2 months pregnant as well as their son Barrett, who is 2 years old. While Angel and Barrett were busy entertaining themselves amidst all the toys we have in our house (which by the way my house looks like a day care center because there are so many toys!) and Ayden was entertaining himself by watching them I was busy talking with our Pastor and his wife. Amongst other things discussed between all of us, we brought up the topic of our wedding and proceeded to ask him to be our officiant, and to conduct our marriage service. He immediately said he would be very pleased to perform our ceremony and we couldn't be happier too! We then discussed pre-marital classes we're going to need to take (big Angel will be thrilled, lol) and to let him know as the date gets closer anything else we would like him to do the day of our wedding.
Another check for my list! Photobucket

Vendors

So we're just about 6 months away from our BIG DAY and we have pretty much chosen all of our vendors, so I figured I'd go ahead and list them on here.

Photography (Michael Brady) and DJ (Kevin Glakin): The Pro's
This company is giving us an amazing price for booking both services through them and have been 100% in customer service from the beginning. We were able to meet both of our guys during one of their wine and cheese showcases they put on in Toms River, which makes me feel a lot better about our choice as well.

Florist: Betina's Garden

We're doing a mixture of pink mini callas, light pink roses, and creme roses. There will also be white stephanotis in my bouquet as well as my two MOH's bouquets with pearls in them! Betinas is AMAZING and has come up with a really amazing quote for our flowers. Find her here.

Transportation: Supreme Limousine

We're going to be having a 14 passenger party bus from this company who has been awesome to work with so far!!
Link is here.

Bridal Jewelry: Etsy

This site is my new obsession. I found my bridal jewelry on here and am also looking into our RB pillow from here and a few other miscellaneous items as well.

My Dress: David's Bridal

You must be crazy if you think I'm posting a picture of it! I don't want to ruin any surprises for those who might be snooping!

Groom's Attire: Mens Wearhouse
We chose this company because they have the exact color for the vest's of the guys to match my brides maid's dresses! We're going on Sunday to check out styles too!

Stationary: T.B.D.
Unfortunately I keep changing my mind every 5 minutes what color/style/material/size/shape invitation I want! I'm really trying to convince my fiance to go for the pocket fold, but I don't think he's anywhere near on board with the idea =( Another factor that comes into play is our budget. I'm willing to DIY, but Angel doesn't want me to go that route, so we'll see what happens.

Meeting with Rebecca

So Angel and I had our meeting with Rebecca Parliman, Catering director at Sea Oaks Country Club where our wedding will be held. We were supposed to go in to set up our dinner menu for the night of our wedding which we accomplished, and so much more! We chose all of our cocktail hour hot and cold displays, our butlered hors devours, dinner entrees, and are getting ready to set up a meeting with the cake lady for Sea Oaks. We also decided to add a signature cocktail to our cocktail hour that will be butlered around as well! I'm so excited! In addition we also chose our chair covers (ivory), sashes (celadon), table overlay linens (ivory pin tuck), and received our direction cards to place inside our invitations! The day could not have gone more perfectly =)

Where we are getting married!

If you can't be them, join them!

So this is my first official day as a "blogger." I'm not quite sure who is going to be reading this or keeping up with the progress of my blog, but here it goes. This blog is going to be focused around our wedding that we are planning for August 2009 and our already growing family. I guess I should explain a few things to begin this fascinating journey. A little over 4 years ago I met my amazing fiance Angel, while working at American Eagle. We started hanging out, going to parties together, and decided to move in together all within a very short period of time. Shortly after our 1 year anniversary we found out we were expecting. We couldn't have been more thrilled. On May 2, 2006 our son Angel III was born. When Angel was about 19 months old we found out we were expecting our second baby, and on August 13, 2008 we had our second son Ayden. So our life is already filled with chaos and energy pretty much right out of the starting gate. Add to that our full time work schedules, full time student schedules, and you've already got a great recipe for a crazy life! Neither of us would have it any other way, and at this point we've got two beautiful, healthy children to be thankful for. So this blog is going to be my semi-daily notes on trying to plan one of the best weddings any of our guest's have ever attended, while still keeping things organized on the home front. Enjoy!
